Approved the ascent of 900 Euros of the multi-industry minimum wage for 2019.
The increase looks for at work to prevent the poverty, to increase the standard of life of the people worse rephelp and to foment a more dynamic wage growth.
The Government has approved a Real Decreto by whom a 22.3% are increased the multi-industry minimum wage (SMI) for year 2019, the major raised in four decades.
The mentioned increase must as objective at work prevent the poverty, increase the standard of life of the worse rephelp people, as women and young people, and foment a more dynamic wage growth, in line with the international recommendations and the minimum increase of agreement agreed to by the social partners in IV the Agreement for the Use and the Collective Negotiation.
The rise of the minimum wage, the major of last the four decades, contributes to guarantee the sustainability of the System of the Social Security and reduces, in addition, the wage breach of sort, - already that affects to a 56.74% of women against a 43.26% of men, and consequently, the breach of sort in pensions.
The quantities that the SMI for year 2019 will have are the following:

SMI month: 900 Euros
SMI year: 12,600 Euros
SMI possible and seasonal:
SMI day: 42.62 Euros
Home SMI used:
SMI hour: 7.04 Euros
Impact in 2,5 million people
The number of people benefitted by the ascent of the SMI ascends to near 2.500.000 of workers: 1,3 million people workers of the general regime without special systems; between 750,000 and 800,000 of the agrarian special system and 400,000 people of the special system of home employees.
By sectors, the commerce wholesale and retail (18.8%), the one of administrative and auxiliary activities (14%) and the one of the hotel trade (10.8%), are the main sectors benefitted by the ascent. They follow services (7.7%), sanitary activities and of social services (6,85), public administration and defense and obligatory social security to him (6.8%), professional, scientific and technical activities (6.3%), education (6.2%) and the manufacturing industry (6%).
With this ascent of the multi-industry minimum wage, Spain contributes to the fulfillment of the Agenda 2030 and its objective one on sustainable development, that pleads so that the creation of use and the economic recovery is translated in a progressive reduction of the poverty and the wage inequalities, helping to promote a sustained, sustainable and inclusive growth.
